My experience with the Beverly Hills Relay for Life this year was ah-mazing. I had veered far away from anything related to cancer for years.
Some people who lose a loved one to the disease dive in right away to fight back. Others of us take some time to come around. Personally, I needed to feel strong enough to know I could really show up and make a difference.
So this year, I chose to dive in and took on captaining a team that raised over $14,000.00 our first time out.
Check out this video to hear more from me on this incredible experience and the biggest gift I got out of doing Relay for Life this year. Marni Battista, co-captain of our team, asks:
- Why I decided to do Relay this year
- What was the biggest impact the Relay experience had on my life

Robert Harrison, the Relay For Life Manager/California Division, says of Relay,
It is amazing to work side by side with the community to identify such talented individuals to become affiliated with our event, and I only see this event becoming more community driven and expand the circle involvement to a higher level.
Come on out this Saturday, July 16th at 9am PST for the opening ceremonies of the Santa Monica Relay for Life where I am honored to be sharing the stage as a guest speaker to help kick off the 24 hour event. Click here for more information.
