…I dig into my toolbox and grab some focus and inspiration. Luckily, I don’t have to only rely on my own tools. With all the great bloggers out there, I can actually rummage around in their archives and come up with some great fuel to get back in action quickly.

So this morning, instead of playing the old procrastination game (which would have been my go to in the past…very safe but unproductive place) I took a few minutes to seek out some online help. Here’s what I found:
Man on a Mission by Roy Ackerman ~ Roy covers an amazing wide array of topics, but today I plugged “inspiration” into his search bar and found the perfect anecdote. This blog post delves into the power of the mission statement. When we tap into our mission and purpose, we can use it to fuel our actions.
My mission statement reminds me my goals and desire to make a difference is bigger than any fears or worries. Check out Roy’s great insights on how a mission statement isn’t a marketing tool, it is the center pole for your entire who you are and how you operate…and why…the what motivates you. If you haven’t written a business or personal mission statement yet, then here’s a great jumping off point. Cancer survivors and caregivers can also benefit from reflective work around life purpose and mission statements. It can add perspective, help you tap into gratitude and see beyond your circumstances even on (and sometimes especially on) challenging days.
