Earning trust, losing trust and a mention of some of the great bloggers I personally trust.
When we enter into an agreement to love another, whether it is in choosing to parent a child or two people deciding to be together, there is a sometimes spoken and always unspoken commitment to care for each other. Though it is probably for the best, for most of us, our early days living inside…
Tracy, it’s hard to believe that you’re just weeks away from heading off to your final training module with iPEC and that by February you’ll be a fully certified professional coach. I vaguely recall hearing the term palliative care somewhere along the continuum of Gary’s cancer treatment. I distinctly remember breathing an inward sigh of relief that he hadn’t, to that point, required it because that would have meant we were in a hospice situation with little possibility of a good outcome in sight. I have had the honor of meeting and working with Jonny Imerman. He’s the real deal…someone who took some of the biggest challenges anyone could face and turn them into a mission to help others…by the thousands when he created a peer to peer mentoring non-profit, Imerman Angels. When I reached out to Jonny last year to ask if he would contribute a chapter on dating and relationships for the eBook project I co-created with Thrive/Survive Los Angeles founder Nico Juber (free to download, “10 to Thrive“), he jumped at the opportunity. Follow him on Facebook and Twitter and you’ll see him all over the place, making a difference in the cancer community.
When Jonny walks into a room, onto a stage or even in the emails he sends, his energy is infectious and he is unstoppable. Another dedicated leader in the cancer community, Margot Malin of Lots to Live For, just posted an amazing article where Jonny shares his story. His commitment to be sure no cancer survivor goes through the journey alone brought tears to my eyes. Jonny is a rockstar in our community, and a particularly powerful role model for young adult survivors.
