Tambre Leighn, MA, CPC, PCC, ELI-MP, the founder of Well Beyond Ordinary, is a Certified Professional High Performance Coach, trainer, speaker, and writer in healthcare. She specializes in coaching healthcare practitioners including surgeons, oncologists, residents, researchers, and nurses. Her focus is helping medical experts to improve and enhance their communication skills so they can be more effective in their role and achieve high performance levels through wellbeing to avoid burnout and compassion fatigue.
Tambre has over 20 years of expertise in the field of communications and holds a Master of Communication Arts degree from Loyola Marymount University and an Honors Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communications from York University in Toronto, Canada.
In 2010, Tambre became a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) and Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner (ELI-MP), designations she received through one of the world’s leading accredited coach training programs, The Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC). She later became a COR.E Performance Dynamics Specialist and COR.E Wellbeing Dynamics Specialist through iPEC’s graduate coach training program. She is one of only a few coaches in the world qualified to facilitate the performance-based app, SCOPE™ and currently doing so in Healthcare.
In 2014, Tambre earned her Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credential from the International Coach Federation, the leading international body that maintains the standards of the coaching profession. The PCC credential requires a demonstration of master level knowledge of coaching skills, principles, and the ethical guidelines of coaching and a minimum of 750 client contact hours, which Tambre far exceeded at the time of her application.
Currently, Tambre works with is healthcare professionals and their organizations to deliver a holistic, coaching based approach to wellbeing as a path to optimal performance — reducing stress, instilling preventative measures, creating sustainable behavior change, opening up powerful dialogues, and creating positive culture change.
Tambre has delivered wellness and high performance workshops, coaching, and leadership training to top organizations including: Banner Health, Atlantic Healthcare Systems, Esai Pharmaceuticals, Caremark CVS, Diplomat Specialty Pharmacies, NYU Langone Medical Center, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Mattel Inc., Keep A Breast Foundation, and Emory University.
Partnered with Dr. Taylor Riall, leading surgeon and Acting Chair of General Surgery at Banner Health in Arizona, Tambre co-presented “The Role of Professional Coaching in Developing Emotional Intelligence and Preventing Burnout in Surgery” to over 250 surgeons at the Academic Surgical Congress.
At The Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC), Tambre trained hundreds of certified professional coaches in wellbeing, high performance, leadership, and grief recovery. Tambre was integral in the development of iPEC’s Graduate COR.E Dynamics Programs for wellbeing, high performance, and leadership including curriculum development and program content. She also co-created the training program for COR.E Dynamics.
Out of her passion to help those with chronic disease and their caregivers to have access to an affordable coaching solution, Tambre co-created Well Beyond This, the first ever, online coaching program of its kind. Tambre developed the 7-phase process and married it with iPEC’s intellectual property in a structured approach that helps people to reduce stress so that they can create sustainable behavior changes to improve their wellbeing and quality of life. The program is currently being piloted with leading institutions such as Fred Hutch, University of Arizona Cancer Center, and the non-profit, Young Survival Coalition.
Tambre’s strengths and passions include coaching, writing, program development, speaking, and training others in coaching principles and skills. She is a well-known presenter in the cancer and healthcare communities and has been a speaker for USC Norris Cancer Center, OMG Summit for Young Adult Cancer Survivors, Young Survival Coalition, UCLA’s Healthy Lives After Cancer, Thrive/Survive Los Angeles, and more.
As a published author, Tambre’s articles have appeared in leading cancer magazines and as the first ever coach blogger for TheONC, an online gated community for oncology professionals, as well as here on her own website. She has also published two eBooks available on Amazon.com. Her personal story of caring for her mother when Tambre was a teenager, appears in the anthology, “Tarnished: True Tales of Innocence Lost” published by Pinchback Press.
As someone committed to making a difference and giving back, Tambre chooses to volunteer her time through a number of advisory positions. She is a Research Stakeholder for the American Cancer Society’s Grant Review Committee, a Scientific Research Advisor for the Knight Cancer Institute at Oregon Health & Science University, and member of the Co-Survivor Council of Advisors for the Young Survival Coalition.
