What IS coaching?
The International Coach Federation (ICF) defines coaching as…
“… partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. Individuals who engage in a coaching relationship can expect to experience fresh perspectives on personal challenges and opportunities, enhanced thinking and decision-making skills, enhanced interpersonal effectiveness, and increased confidence in carrying out their chosen work and life roles.” (coachfederation.org)
A coaching relationship is first and foremost a place to be heard. It is a client-centered approach where you set your own agenda and pace. We will use evaluation tools to establish the areas you’d like to focus your work and gain clarity on what has been holding you back from thriving in your life instead of just surviving.
What coaching isn’t…
Coaching is not therapy, which often centers on resolving issues from the past. While coaching may use past incidents to inform about current challenges, most sessions focus on moving efficiently from the present to toward successfully accomplishing future goals.
Coaches do not offer advice. They are not mentors, nor do they act as consultants. Brainstorming, goal setting, action plans and accountability are some of the powerful approaches coaching employs.
Does coaching take place in person or by phone?
Coaching by phone or skype is my main method of working with clients. It is highly effective and carries many benefits including enhancing productivity and being more cost efficient. If you are located in the Los Angeles area, in person sessions can be arranged on a case by case basis at an additional charge for travel time and related costs. However, time is money so let’s make the most of both. It is also a choice that supports the environment. One on one coaching packages include unlimited email support between sessions.
All group coaching takes place via conference calls.

Can I start with just a couple of sessions?
Coaching is a life changing process. It takes time to establish a powerful coaching relationship, learn new tools and implement new strategies. For clients who prefer to start with a smaller package, I recommend doing the Assessment Package first. It will help you see clearly what’s keeping you in survival mode instead of living optimally and identify areas where coaching can create a major shift.
My goal as a coach is to prepare you with enough tools and generate the kind of momentum that allows you to sustain forward movement on your own. This requires an investment of time and resources on your part. Most clients choosing coaching for the first time begin with the 10 hour package which can be divided into consecutive sessions of one hour or thirty minutes weekly.
Some clients then go to a bi-monthly maintenance call for several months. Others find they are ready to launch on their own knowing they can return in the future if they need added support to reach the next level. Clients may also choose to take a break and return later when they have new goals they wish to achieve or another area of their lives they wish to focus on. These clients may return on a month-to-month basis, as they will already have a strong coaching foundation in place.
How do payments work?
Payment plans are available. Payments via PayPal can be made securely on this site using debit or credit cards.
