I’m at the MD Anderson Cancer Survivorship Conference for the next few days, so I’m turning my blog over to a couple of experts (surprise, ladies!) who have made the choice to thrive during very difficult times.
Here are some links to two inspiring posts by bloggers who are the picture of how to thrive, even in the face of major life challenges:
Meet Maureen Hunter. Unfortunately, Maureen and I share the experience of having lost someone precious to us. For Maureen, it was the death of her son that plunged her into grief. In her post, Coaches, Comfort and Companions, she shares what turned her around and led her to the incredible work she is doing through her company, Esdeer, to help others struggling with grief.
Another inspiration to me is Melissa Austin. She writes a truly authentic blog, Bye, Bye, Fat Girl. In her post, I Am Not Okay, Melissa shares about what I call a pushing through moment. We have those moments in life where some really big happens that shakes us to our core. Yes, it may take you to your knees but Melissa shows us how we each have the choice about what we’ll do next.
When challenges rise up to meet you, remember you aren’t alone. There are others sharing your journey through the tough stuff and many who can help you along the way. You can find the support you need…just ask. Thriving is not a destination, it is a way of life.
