I looked out a window this morning into a forest of lush greenery and noticed a pop of soft orange. In amongst the dense growth of branches and leaves, a single rose is blooming.
Even though life is extremely demanding right now, I’ve learned how important it is to stop and breathe.
So I took a moment to look at the rose in wonder. There is was, unafraid of of being its only kind surrounded by much larger foliage. It did not ask if there was a place for it amongst its neighboring bushes. It did not fear looking different or standing out. It simply did what it was born to do…it bloomed and brought more beauty to the world.
What if we were to live like the rose? What if we found the place that most enriched us and fed our needs and dared to bloom there? What if we did not fear judgment for being different but, instead, considered that our gift, not our differences may be the thing that others see? What if we dared to be our authentic self and share our beauty with the world?
Today, and every day, be the rose. It may require patience, persistence, and resilience to rise up and claim your place but in doing so, you will bring beauty and inspiration to the world…things we need more of these days.
Now…go be you…and bloom!
