I am a self-proclaimed do-er. I believe vision comes into being through aligned and inspired action. I tend to agree with Thomas Edison who said:

The three great essentials to achieve anything worth while are, first, hard work; second, stick-to-itiveness; third, common sense.

But sometimes life is about being willing to look at the other side of the coin. When I started my day, I had a long list of to dos including some things left dangling from last week. Thinking about having to follow up twice was draining my energy. Not the way I wanted to start my Monday. I shrugged it off and started to head out to Starbucks to write up my blog posts for the week.

That’s when it began to happen. My phone rang and one of my dangling loose ends got wrapped up in less than five minutes with no effort from me. As the hours went by, phone calls and emails arrived all resolving the things left undone as if by magic. It was easy, took no effort by me and no action other than I had run through a mental list of these must follow up again first thing this morning.

I still believe that just thinking about coaching cancer survivors and caregivers in massive numbers to positively impact their lives is not enough. A vision without action, I believe, lives somewhere up in the ether. But what if setting an intention created an ease and flow to allow for connections, resources, and open doors to be presented.

Given how easy it made my day today…I’ll buy that!
